Scotland get first Test win of the year

Scotland ran five tries past Samoa in Wellington to secure their first Test victory of the year and first under coach Matt Williams.

After a cagey first half, Scotland led 11-3 but Ben Hinshelwood, Ally Hogg, Simon Webster and Mike Blair all added to Gordon Ross’ opening try to seal a comfortable victory.

Chris Paterson kicked 13 points from three penalties and two conversions as Scotland kept Samoa pointless from the fifth minute on.
