Ulster centre Jonny Bell has been forced to withdraw from the Ireland squad for the World Cup.

Further problems arising from a long-standing Achilles tendon injury has forced Bell to pull out of Eddie O'Sullivan's squad after he broke down in training this morning.

A replacement has yet to be named but the Irish team management are meeting to discuss the situation. It is expected that Bell's Ulster team-mate Paddy Wallace will be called into the squad.
