Scots enjoy big win against Italy
Scotland 47 Italy 15
Scotland cruised to a comfortable six-try victory over Italy for a confidence boost in their World Cup build-up campaign.
Back-row forward Jason White, centre James McLaren and scrum-half Mike Blair all touched down with the Edinburgh Gunners man running the length of the field to collect a ball from Chris Paterson.
Stand-off Gordon Ross ensured a personal tally of 18 points with his try while Bath wing Simon Danielli hurled himself over the line on his debut before replacement Brendan Laney ran over in injury time.
Ross also struck two conversions and three penalties as he attempted to cement his place at fly-half.
Paterson also kicked two conversions to complete the scoring.
Brendan Laney added try number six in stoppage time, goaled by Paterson.
