RBAI and Methodist College meet in semis
The big Belfast rivals RBAI and Methodist College will go head to head in a Schools Cup semi-final showdown at Ravenhill next Tuesday.
In the other half of the draw, Wallace High School will take on BRA two days later at the home of Ulster rugby.
The were no quarter-final upsets with the four fancied sides triumphing despite all playing away from their home grounds on Saturday.
Despite a 6-6 draw at half-time in their match against Bangor Grammar, RBAI stepped up the pressure in the second-half of their match to finish it 41-6.
BRA saw off Friends School of Lisburn 35-5 while Methody squeezed past the Royal School Dungannon 30-20. Wallace High School defeated Rainey Endowed 26-5, helped by two tries from Irish Schools captain Chris Henry.
At the semi-final draw, Stephen Hilditch, Chairman of the Ulster Schools comittee, said: "The Schools Cup is the second oldest rugby competition in the world and is unique in the atmosphere and excitement it generates.
"As it turned out the four favourites have progressed to the final stages of the competition but I'm sure all would say that they had a difficult enough journey to get here."
