South Africa have made four changes to their starting line-up for Saturday's match against England following their first defeat to Scotland for 33 years.

South Africa have made four changes to their starting line-up for Saturday's match against England following their first defeat to Scotland for 33 years.

Coach Rudi Straeuli has recalled hooker James Dalton - the squad's most experienced player - AJ Venter at lock and given a first Test start to 21-year-old flanker Pedrie Wannenburg.

Butch James, who started at fly-half against Scotland, moves to inside centre to make room for the return of Andre Pretorius.

The replacements will be finalised after training on Friday.

South Africa team to play England at Twickenham on Saturday:

Greeff, Paulse, Fleck, James, Lombard, Pretorius, Conradie, Roux, Dalton, Carstens, Labuschagne, Venter, Krige, Wannenburg, van Niekerk.

Replacements (from): van Biljon, van der Linde, Botha, Wentzel, Uys, Jordaan, Joubert, Jacobs, Russell.
