AIB League: Dungannon's survival assured
Dungannon 32, Galwegians 12 (full-time)
Dungannon's Division One survival is virtually assured, thanks to a rousing second half performance to which Galwegians could find no effective response.
And it was David Humphreys, making a rare club appearance, who inspired the AIL champions to a much-needed five-pointer.
Humphreys, whose first half kicking had been forgettable, linked play majestically after the break, kicked superbly and showed just why he is Ireland's first choice out half.
Galwegians couldn't have asked for more from their former Irish pivot, Eric Elwood, who kicked a perfect four from four, but their four points lead at the end of a dominant first half was never going to be enough.
They defended almost constantly for the final 40 minutes, during which the home side ran in three tries and could have had as many more.
Three first half penalties from Elwood had Galwegians in control for the opening half-hour, but Dungannon struck a vital blow when Ryan Constable made the break for Jan Cunningham to score in the corner, just after Galwegians prop David McFarland had been sent to the sin bin.
The Tyrone men trailed 9-5 at the break, and after Humphreys and Elwood traded penalties, it wasn't until the 58th minute that they took the lead for the first time.
But it was an advantage they were never going to lose, and with Tony McWhirter and Paddy Johns, playing his last game at Stevenson Park, supremely effective in the engine room, they pinned the Connacht men back in their own half.
Humphreys played key roles in sending Seamus Mallon through for a try and in creating Jan Cunningham's second.
And it was Bryn Cunningham who grabbed a fourth home try in injury-time to seal victory for Willie Anderson's side.
