Rugby: AIB League to restructure

The AIB League is to undergo a restructure.

Following consideration by the Union Committee, the current structure of three divisions of 16 teams in the AIB League will end at the conclusion of season 2002/3.

The number of clubs in Division One will then be reduced to 14 over a two years period with a corresponding increase to 17 teams in Division 2 and 3.

Details regarding promotion and relegation to achieve this will be decided later.
