The New Zealand Rugby Football Union is to seek legal advice after it was dumped by neighbour Australia as sub-hosts for the 2003 World Cup.

The news follows a press conference in Sydney today when the Australian Rugby Union withdrew its invitation to New Zealand to co-host the competition.

Murray McCaw of the NZRFU said only the IRB Council has the power to remove New Zealand as co-hosts.
