Rugby: Ireland romp to victory over Wales

Ireland 55 - 22 Wales

Ireland romped to victory in their A International at Musgrave Park, Cork with an eight-try demolition of their Welsh counterparts.

Ireland's second string had trailed 14-15 at half-time with Welsh fly-half Lee Jarvis kicking four penalties and a drop goal to Ireland's two converted tries from Neil Doak and Alan Quinlan.

But Ireland ran away with the game in the second half, scoring four tries in 11 minutes just before the hour from Jeremy Davidson, Gordon D'Arcy, John Kelly and Tyrone Howe to break Welsh spirits.

Full-back Paddy Wallace and Howe again ran over to rubber-stamp the home victory.
