Rugby: Three on trial over death of rugby star's father

Three men were today due to go on trial for the murder of the father of England international rugby star Ben Cohen.

Three men were today due to go on trial for the murder of the father of England international rugby star Ben Cohen.

Gavin Kerr, 32, of Clinton Road, Far Cotton, Northampton; Colin Kerr, 31, of Elderstump House, Kislingbury Road, Rothersthorpe, Northamptonshire; and Robert Evans, 31, of Thorn Hill, Briar Road, Northampton, are all accused of the murder of Peter Cohen on November 14, 2000.

All three are due to appear before Birmingham Crown Court.

Mr Cohen, 58, died at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham a month after an alleged assault at the Eternity nightclub in Northampton.

The club is owned by his 26-year-old son, Justin.
