Rugby: Dungannon beat Young Munster
Young Munster are still looking for their first win of the season, a sixth straight defeat leaving them anchored at the bottom of the AIL Division One table.
This was a game which offered little in terms of excitement and entertainment value, with not a single genuine try-scoring opportunity.
But that won't worry Dungannon, who kept their unbeaten home record intact.
Eamon Buckley's eighth minute penalty gave the Limerick men a deserved lead but they were unable to add to their tally throughout the remainder of an uninspiring first half which saw Dungannon defend almost constantly.
Young Munster led 3-0 at half-time, but it was Dungannon who managed to inject some fluency into their game after the break.
Ian Humphreys, who will probably want to forget his first half kicking, landed two penalties to ease the AIL champions into a lead they were never to lose.
A Humphreys dropped goal made it 9-3 on 22 minutes, while Young Munster No 8 Paul Lynch was sitting it out in the sin-bin.
And as the game moved into injury-time, a second dropped goal from Humphreys sealed victory for Dungannon.
Full-time: Dungannon 12, Young Munster 3
