New concussion education App launched by World Rugby
World Rugby Concussion Management is the name of an app launched today by World Rugby as part of their #RecogniseAndRemove call to action on concussion.
The app is freely available from the Apple App Store, but it is not yet on Android. Â It is aimed at educating players, parents, coaches, medics and officials about concussion.
World Rugby is urging the global rugby family to #RecogniseAndRemove, download the App, complete the education module and challenge a friend on social media to do the same.

The IRFU launched a range of educational videos on Youtube back in March, World Rugby has gone for a more mobile-friendly approach. The new app has a mixture of written content and videos as well as a test to ensure you’ve understood and remembered the material.
There’s reference information easily accessible in the app for information that will be needed anytime there’s a suspicion of concussion. Both the pocket Concussion Recognition Test (CRT) and the Graduated Return to Play Guidelines (GRTP) are menu items on the opening screen of the app.
Japan full-back and Rugby World Cup 2015 star Ayumu Goromaru is one of a number of top level players supporting the education campaign: "Concussion education is paramount in a contact sport and it is great to see rugby leading the way. I encourage everyone in the sport from community and school level to the top level of the game to download the App, get educated, #RecogniseAndRemove and encourage others to do the same.”
