Ireland team determined to get Sean O’Brien a date

With two wins from two so far, Ireland are busy preparing for their third game of this year’s Rugby World Cup against Italy on Sunday. However, the focus of Rob Kearney and Ian Madigan appears to have wavered over the last day or so, if you are to believe their Twitter accounts.

Ireland team determined to get Sean O’Brien a date

The two Leinster lads appear determined to get fellow Ireland and Leinster teammate Sean O’Brien a date.

Earlier today, Ian Madigan was asked on Twitter by an Amy Garland, would he go on a date?

The Leinster out-half, who has a girlfriend, replied saying he was flattered but couldn’t. He did however, drop O’Brien’s name, saying the Ireland flanker would “guarantee a good date.” How does he know?

Amy replied, wishing Madigan luck for Sunday’s game and saying she would get in touch with O’Brien. And that she did. “Hey Sean, your friend Ian said I should get in touch. What are you doing after your game on Sunday?”, she asked the Tullow Tank.

In the aftermath of Madigan’s tweeted reply, the Irish outhalf and O’Brien have been tagged in countless tweets from girls all keen to go out with him.

Then, merely a few hours later, Rob Kearney was asked the same question by Danielle Grant on the social media site.

The Ireland full-back replied along the same lines as Madigan:

No sign, as yet, of a reply from O’Brien. However, we wait with bated breath to see if Messrs Kearney and Madigan have a future in the matchmaking business. Meanwhile, O’Brien may need to hire a secretary to reply to all the date requests on Twitter judging from amount of tweets directed at the Carlow man.

And with the race to land a date with O’Brien in full swing, some late comers even tried to get the likes of Heaslip, Healy and Murray involved.
