Connacht aim for historic first win at RDS

Pat Lam is aiming to do what no other Connacht coach has managed and come away from the RDS with a victory on Friday.

Connacht aim for historic first win at RDS

In a meeting of fifth versus sixth, Connacht take on Leinster in this crunch Pro12 tie having never defeated their inter-provincial rivals at the Dublin venue before. In September 2002, a Mark McHugh drop-goal gave Connacht a 26-23 win at Donnybrook and since then the westerners have failed to beat Leinster on home soil, but Lam is excited about his team’s chances this time around.

“We have never won before in the RDS and we have never ever done back to back (wins) from Leinster as well, so you can see the challenge we face,” said Lam.
