Schmidt will name squad to face Pumas after Pro12 semis

Joe Schmidt is likely to wait until after the RaboDirect PRO12 semi-finals before naming the squad he will take to Argentina next month for his first Irish tour.

The coach admitted flying out to Argentina the day after the PRO12 final on May 31 is presenting challenges, with the first test against the Pumas taking place the following Saturday.

Schmidt said that having three teams in the semi-finals of the PRO12 was great for Irish rugby but it also created logistical issues.
