Terenure power too much for Belvo

Terenure College 13 Belvedere College 7

Underdogs Belvo needed to start well and they tried to keep the ball in hand in the difficult wind. However, when that strategy backfired early, Terenure took full advantage.

Roche’s first try came after just two minutes and there was a cutting edge about ‘Nure, Jordan Lynch and David Doyle in particular showing up well.

The lineout and maul produced a second try for Roche to make it 10-0 in the 53rd minute, and Terenure’s maul also helped them earn a penalty, which was kicked by full-back Billy Dardis for a winning lead.

Or so it seemed. Belvo centre Ger Young steamed onto a short ball from Sean McCullagh and cut inside for a superb try, converted by Young in the 66th minute to cause a hectic finale but Terenure prevailed.
