Leinster to renew rivalry with Clermont

Heineken Cup champions Leinster will earn another big pay day when they play French rivals Clermont Auvergne at the Aviva Stadium.

The dates will be settled for the 2012/13 competition next month but the draw has been made and, apart from money matters, Leinster will hardly be ecstatic about the outcome. Drawn in Pool 5 against the team they defeated narrowly in this year’s semi-final, they also meet Llanelli Scarlets and Aviva Premiership workhorses Exeter Chiefs.

It’s not quite in the same category as the Pool 2 group of death which features Toulouse, Leicester, Ospreys and Treviso, but it’s close.
