Job done, now World revolves around Italy

FORGET the Australia win, Ireland touched down in Dunedin this morning to prepare for what will be the biggest week of their World Cup to date.

Nine tries in Rotorua yesterday made for a comprehensive and comfortable victory against tournament debutants Russia that ticked all the boxes for Declan Kidney’s squad as they face into their winner-takes-all final Pool C game with Six Nations rivals Italy on Sunday.

Win and Ireland progress to the quarter-finals in Wellington the following week as group winners and a match-up against, most likely, Wales.
