Cogan skipper for Scotland clash
The side, coached by David O’Mahony, contains five new caps and will include free-scoring Dolphin out-half Barry Keeshan, who partners St Mary’s College scrum-half Matt D’Arcy.
Former Con skipper Evan Ryan, now of Clontarf, and Dolphin’s Eric Moloney will form an experienced centre partnership while Old Belvedere’s David Mongan earns his first cap with Galwegians’ John Cleary on the wings. John O’Brien of Buccaneers is another new cap at full-back.
Up front Richie Sweeney is rewarded for his form for St. Mary’s College and is named at hooker with John Ryan (UCC) and Christy Condon (Dolphin) completing the front row.
Philip Donnellan of UCC and Clontarf’s Simon Crawford are named in the second row. The back row is a highly experienced unit with former captain Hugh Hogan packing down alongside Barry O’Mahony and Cogan.
