Ryan cited for stamping incident

DONNCHA RYAN’S hopes of adding to his seven caps this month are in the balance after the second-row was cited yesterday for allegedly stamping an opponent during Ireland’s win over Samoa last Saturday.

The Munster forward spent only 12 minutes on the pitch as a replacement for Devin Toner, but that was enough to be cited by the independent RBS Six Nations Citing Commissioner, Jean Etienne Bernard of France.

The hearing will take place in London today before an independent RBS Six Nations Disciplinary Committee chaired by Roger Morris (Wales) and assisted by Simon Thomas (Wales) and Achille Reali (Italy).

The disciplinary hearing for Ti’i Paulo, the Samoa hooker who was cited last week for two alleged dangerous tackles by the independent RBS Six Nations citing commissioner Aurwel Morgan (Wales) following the match between Connacht and Samoa in Galway last Tuesday, will also be held in London today.
