JERRY FLANNERY’S participation in Ireland’s autumn internationalseries hangs in the balance following another injury setback in Saturday’s Heineken Cup victory over Toulon.

Ireland worry as Flannery injury jinx strikes again

The Irish hooker pulled up barely 15 minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute when he felt his calf tighten; it is yet another chapter in a series of hamstring/calf muscle injuries that have frustrated Flannery since last season’s semi-final defeat to Biarritz. A Munster spokesman said it was too early to make a call on the injury, noting that Flannery will have to undergo another medical examination.

On a more positive note, Paul Warwick and Keith Earls are likely to recover quickly from Saturday knocks.
