O’Driscoll eyeing Clermont tie

LEINSTER are confident that Brian O’Driscoll will be fit for their Heineken Cup quarter-final against Clermont Auvergne at the RDS on April 9.

O’Driscoll eyeing Clermont tie

The Irish skipper damaged his knee in Ireland’s Six Nations defeat to Scotland on Saturday. Despite reports that the centre was facing six weeks on the sidelines, IRFU sources said last night that the injury, a medial ligament strain, isn’t as serious as first feared and predict that O’Driscoll could be back playing within a fortnight.

However he looks certain to miss Leinster’s glamour Magners League clash with Munster on Good Friday (April 2) at Thomond Park.
