Brive pose a threat, warns Fitzgerald

LUKE FITZGERALD isn’t giving much credence to reports that Brive will be concentrating on domestic duties to the detriment of their Heineken Cup campaign this season.

The Top 14 side, though European champions in 1997, are featuring in the tournament for the first time since 1998 and will compete in a group containing the current champions, London Irish and Scarlets.

A late surge in last season’s French league earned Brive entry to the top European tier this time around but they have struggled so far this season having won just three games, drawn one and lost five times.
