IRELAND captain Brian O’Driscoll stepped up his recovery program yesterday as Eddie O’Sullivan’s squad continued their World Cup training preparations in Bray.

O’Driscoll took part in a full fitness session, but stayed out of contact as he recovers from a fractured sinus he suffered 12 days ago.

There was also positive news on flanker David Wallace, who spent some time on the field, as the Ireland medical staff continue to oversee his recovery from the chronic ankle problem that has limited his training. However, he also came through a rigorous fitness session. Paddy Wallace sat out training as he rested a bruised hip.
