An early score-burst gave the visitors a solid foundation and they scored five tries to secure a bonus point that brings them ever closer to a top four position.
Garryowen controlled the forward battle and had far too much fire-power out wide for Dolphin.
The visitors set out their stall as early as the third minute when full back Conor Kilroy went in for a try, which he converted. Five minutes later, Damian Varley touched down after a maul and Kilroy again converted.
Dolphin did fight back, with an Alan Daly try that Barry Keeshan converted, but Kilroy was on target with a penalty moments afterwards before Anthony Kavanagh got the first of a hat trick of tries in the 30th minute to leave Garryowen 22-7 ahead at the interval.
Eric Moloney (try) and Keeshan (conversion) combined to give Dolphin some hope in the 54th minute, but Garryowen cut loose again in the final quarter to score a further two tries.
Meanwhile a late try from Gavin O’Meara helped Lansdowne to an 8-5 win at home to Belfast Harlequins.
At Templeville Road, St Mary’s proved too good for UCD, winning 27-20 and picking up a bonus point in the process.
Cork Constitution enjoyed a big start in their game against Buccaneers, and despite a strong fightback from the home side, did enough to post a 29-16 win.
Having secured a bonus point, Con held their seven-points lead at the top of the table from Clontarf.
The north Dublin club ran out convincing 36-6 winners away to Ballymena.
Just outside the top four, Garryowen will have to contend with a challenge from at least three other clubs.
Dungannon, despite a surprise home defeat to Blackrock, have the same points total, Blackrock have hauled themselves into contention with that great win at Stevenson Park, while Terenure and Lansdowne are also in the frame, just a couple of points further back.
