THE English RFU yesterday revealed they will not be making an official complaint over the tunnel bust-up which preceded England’s RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland on Saturday.

England coach Clive Woodward was incensed by attempts to unsettle his team before the Calcutta Cup match as the Grand Slam champions were kept waiting on the pitch for three minutes before Scotland emerged from their changing room. But the RFU will not take the matter further the Six Nations committee require an official complaint before they can launch an investigation although they want the issue of pre-match procedure to be standardised.

"We won't be making a complaint because we believe this is a matter for Six Nations people to clear up. But there needs to be a set protocol for what happens before a match," said RFU chief executive Francis Baron.
