McAllister set to join Munster

FORMER Irish schools and Under-21 out-half David McAllister is poised to join up with Munster for the remainder of the season.

Terenure’s McAllister, who helped his side to an AIB victory over Dolphin at Musgrave Park yesterday, could be added to Munster’s Celtic League squad under licence, or even to the Heineken Cup group as back-up to Ronan O’Gara.

Munster coach Declan Kidney has problems at out-half because Paul Burke is still recovering from a knee injury. McAllister was involved in talks this week with Leinster coach Michael Cheika (who has not included McAllister in competitive squads) and informed of Munster’s interest in him.
