Bourgoin ring the changes after rout
The return of captain Pierre Raschi is one of a fleet of changes designed to placate not just the Heineken Cup authorities but their own supporters.
Club president Pierre Martinet accepted last night that the club had been stung by the criticism of their selection for the 17-92 defeat at Lansdowne Road, and has urged coach Laurent Seigne to forget about the domestic Championship for the moment.
"What happened in Dublin was unacceptable. It happened but we have to move on." He was supported yesterday by one of the survivors, second row Pascal Pape, who pledged: "this will not be the same game. In Dublin we were working within our resources - it is a squad of quality rather than quantity but we let ourselves down."
The wholesale changes are, as Leinster coach Declan Kidney suggested, no surprise. "We can't be fooled by what happened in Dublin. French teams play with a huge amount of pride at home and it depends on what Bourgoin team turns up."
