Fingers crossed for Quinlan

WEDNESDAY is D-Day for Alan Quinlan. The Munster flanker, who damaged his knee in Friday’s Heineken Cup defeat by Sale Sharks, will travel to Dublin for a diagnosis from a top surgeon.

Fingers crossed for Quinlan

Quinlan was at first feared to have damaged a cruciate ligament, but he is hoping for a less serious diagnosis which would boost his chances of playing in the rest of the European campaign.

However, he is ruled out of Munster’s clash with old rivals Castres at Thomond Park next Saturday.
