WALES winger Rhys Williams insists his side are far from downhearted following their RBS Six Nations defeat by Ireland.

Rousing performances in the World Cup and an emphatic victory over Scotland in their Six Nations opener led to talk of yet another revival for Welsh rugby but Williams said: “I know the country was excited. But this wasn’t a ‘reality check’ for the squad, because we always kept everything in perspective,” he said.

“The squad never blew things out of proportion.”
