Green unlikely to recover for Glasgow clash

LEINSTER coach Michael Cheika has all but given up on Will Green for Saturday’s Heineken Cup clash against Glasgow (RDS, 5.15pm. RTÉ Two).

Cheika’s first choice tight-head prop is bothered by ligament damage in the shoulder/neck area and the coach admitted yesterday: “I’ve included him in my squad but I don’t think he has much chance of making it.”

Green’s front row partner David Blaney is also a concern, as is Rob Kearney, but Cheika was more upbeat about their chances. “We’re pretty hopeful that David, after having his feet up for a couple of days, will be right. We have decided to name an expanded squad to allow Rob prove his fitness too.”
