Super Seb puts Sale in cruise control
The France international went over either side of the break as the Sharks maintained their 100% record in the competition.
Inspirational winger Jason Robinson bagged a second-half try to cap off a superb all-round display while replacement Robert Todd also touched down late on. Fly-half Charlie Hodgson was again solid with the boot, kicking 15 points.
A victory over Newport-Gwent Dragons in their next European match at the start of next year should see Sale through to the quarter-finals with plenty to spare.
There were ominous signs for Castres early on, with Sale causing no end of damage in the first two scrums. From the second, the visitors impinged and Hodgson knocked over a simple penalty.
Castres full-back Romain Teulet and Hodgson then exchanged penalties as the Sharks kept their noses in front and after a great passage of attacking play, involving Mark Cueto, Hodgson and Magnus Lund, the Sale fly-half booted his third three-pointer to put his team 9-3 in front after 20 minutes.
But Sale roused themselves in the final few minutes of the half and Chabal a clear man of the match grabbed the evening's first try and Hodgson converted to give the hosts a 16-3 interval lead.
The hulking Frenchman doubled the dose in the 43rd minute when he went over for his second try, the number eight intercepting a pass from visiting scrum-half Alexandre Albouy about 60 yards out to leave the stranded defence in his wake and he galloped over comfortably under the posts.
Robinson claimed his try three minutes later when he followed up good work by centre Mark Taylor with Hodgson adding the extras to both touchdowns.
Sale chased a bonus point in the final few minutes and got their reward when substitute Todd crashed over.

Glasgow Warriors 10 Bath 29
Danny Grewcock was Bath's destroyer in chief as Glasgow's Heineken Cup dreams were shattered at frosty Firhill.
The giant lock marked his return with a commanding display, along with a remarkable solo try, to give his side a golden chance of earning the tag of top seeds in the quarter-finals.
Warriors survived a shaky first half to reach the interval just seven points in arrears, but Grewcock struck in lethal style seconds after the restart.
Toulouse 35 Edinburgh 13
Edinburgh's Heineken Cup hopes were hanging by a thread despite a battling performance against the superstars of Toulouse.
The Gunners went into this match knowing they would need to create history by becoming the first Scottish side to notch a European win on French soil. But, despite a gutsy display, the pace and power of the cup holders proved too much in the end.
