Munster fail in bid to land Contepomi

MUNSTER have failed in their bid to land Felipe Contepomi as an additional player for the remainder of the Heineken Cup.

Officials discovered this week that the Argentine star would be unavailable for Leinster’s remaining games in the Celtic League if he made the move.

Mike Prendergast and Alan Quinlan have been drafted into the squad by Alan Gaffney, who has also introduced rookie prop Ross Callaghan (as perrules) for the injured Eugene McGovern.

However, Prendergast will be unavailable for selection when Munster play Stade Français in the quarter-final of the Heineken Cup early next month.

On the bright side, Quinlan is recovering well from the shoulder injury he sustained in the World Cup.
