Titterrell gets boot as Gissing cleared

IN a double boost for Leinster, the Disciplinary Committee of the ERC has banned Sale hooker Andy Titterrell for six weeks for a stamp on Eric Miller during last Friday’s match between the sides, while the province’s second-row Ben Gissing has been cleared of a similar charge.

The Committee, comprising of Scottish Rugby Union officials Rob Flockhart and Iain Goodall (SRU), met in Dublin yesterday to consider the charges.

Television pictures clearly showed Titterrell’s blatant stamp on Miller’s head, while Gissing’s ‘offence’ appeared mild by comparison.
