Robinson still wants to mastermind World Cup defence

ANDY ROBINSON is braced for the painful fall-out from another failed RBS Six Nations campaign - but he still wants to plot England’s 2007 World Cup defence.

Head coach Robinson intends being around for the long haul, although pressure on his position will inevitably mount after the world champions once again finished outside Europe’s top three.

Robinson’s current contract incorporates the World Cup in France next year, and despite England winning just eight out of 16 Tests since he succeeded Clive Woodward, his Rugby Football Union bosses look certain to back him.
