Oh, when it rains, it pours, wasn't necessarily phrased for its literal meaning, but truer words were never said at the minute. Since Storm Chandra passed through on Tuesday, the east of the country is dealing with what the west copes with most years, but in the greater scheme of the places where water has found its way to, Leopardstown is a trivial worry compared to Enniscorthy.

So far, the track has passed two inspections, and the hurdle course has been moved to its outermost line, traditionally used for the course's final jump meeting in March. Water has been sucked and pumped into every drain available to the track, but what falls from the sky tonight will decide whether day one of the DRF gets to start.
