Seeking a first jockeys' championship, Jack Kennedy stretched his lead over six-time champion Paul Townend to 19 (97-78) thanks to a fabulous four-timer in Down Royal, a track the Dingle man described as a “happy hunting ground”.
Unsurprisingly, three of Kennedy’s wins were shared with his boss Gordon Elliott, the highlight of their haul coming in the opening Molson Coors Beverage Company Maiden Hurdle when Staffordshire Knot justified 8-15 favouritism in great style.
