With due respect to Royal Pagaille and Grand National hero Corach Rambler, the Betfair Chase, the first Grade One contest of the British jumps season, shapes as a match between defending champion Protektorat and Bravemansgame, an impressive winner of last season’s King George.

The classy duo met in last season’s Gold Cup where Bravemansgame crossed the line eight lengths in front of Protektorat when they finished second and fifth respectively behind impressive victor Galopin Des Champs.
