Modern Games was an impressive winner of the Emirates Poule d’Essai des Poulains at Longchamp yesterday for William Buick and Charlie Appleby.

The colt was the 7-4 favourite after a juvenile campaign that ended with a Grade One victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar in November.
