The Mallow Town Summer Race meeting takes place in Cork this Friday July 8 with organisers planning an evening to suit experienced racegoers and those new to a flutter.

It is a full seven race National Hunt card with the first race off at 5.55pm. The Family Day Out August 1st Hurdle at 7.55pm should be a highlight, with entries from Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott and Henry De Bromhead.

Mullins’ ever-popular Thousand Stars will battle it out with stablemate Sempre Medici.

There will be live music for two hours after the racing ends - giving punters plenty of time to either celebrate their winnings or drown their sorrows.

Organisers are promoting the meet as a good social night out with friends with social packages available to buy online and free shuttle bus service to and from the racecourse.
