Irish jockey Creighton released from hospital

Eddie Creighton has been discharged from Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital after making a remarkable

recovery in recent days.

The Irish man took a very heavy fall at Warrnambool racecourse and genuine fears for his life

emerged after his condition deteriorated following his fall on Saturday.

Racing Victoria tweeted: “Jockey Eddie Creighton was discharged from the ‘The Alfred’ today. He has made huge progress over the past two days after falling on Saturday.

Creighton had been in an induced coma, but his miraculous recovery will be greeted with great relief by his family, friends and the wider racing community.

It has been a particularly difficult time for racing with German work rider Friederike Ruhle losing her life during the week at Caulfield.
