Inspection called at Ffos Las; Huntingdon 'looking bleak'
Ffos Las’ fixture on Friday is subject to a 7.30am inspection on raceday morning.
Officials at the Welsh venue must assess conditions in case the track is waterlogged. The going is currently heavy.
Clerk of the course Tim Long said on Thursday morning: "We had a large amount of rain on Tuesday - 28 millimetres - but we are raceable.
“It’s heavy ground, but there are forecasts which suggest we could have a large amount of rain today – certainly 15mm plus.
“We will be fine with the bottom end of that, but we just feel it’s correct to make people aware of what’s going on.”
Meanwhile, Huntingdon will today stage a 12.30pm inspection ahead of Saturday’s meeting.
Heavy rain on Wednesday has left the racecourse partly flooded.
There are also further showers forecast.
Huntingdon clerk of the course Sulekha Varma said this morning: "We flooded overnight and the water is still rising.
“The water does go down quite quickly here, though, so we’ll see where we are at 12.30pm. At this stage the situation is looking pretty bleak.”
