Murchu lands opening strike in Galway

Murchu struck for Shark Hanlon in the Perfect Pint Beginners Chase on day four of the Galway Festival this afternoon.

The 13-2 chance was atoning for a Down Royal departure, having got rid of Andrew McNamara on his fencing debut but jumped much better for the same pilot and progressed to touch down over the second-last in a share of the lead.
