McGrath gives up Newcastle rides

Richie McGrath has given up his rides at Newcastle today after suffering a leg injury in a fall at the Gosforth Park track on Thursday.

The jump jockey took a tumble when Lets Go Girls sustained a fatal injury at the fourth flight in the STP Construction Handicap Hurdle.

“He’s having an X-ray on his leg after his fall. We don’t know any more,” said his agent Richard Hale.
