Denis Hogan found himself in trouble with the stewards at Limerick last night.

The trainer-rider was ruled in breach of the rules regarding achieving the best possible placing after Norah Starr finished seventh, beaten just over five lengths, in the "It's a Student's Life" Handicap.

Following an inquiry, Hogan was found in breach of Rule 212 (a) and 212 (a) (i) and was handed a 14-day ban for his ride, and also a €1,000 fine as the trainer.

Norah Starr was banned from running for 60 days.
