Former Triumph Hurdle winner Zaynar has left Nick Williams and will join David Pipe with immediate effect.

The grey had joined Williams from Nicky Henderson, for whom he won the juvenile championship at Cheltenham in 2009, and appeared set for a bright future over fences when winning a Grade Two at Ascot in good style.

However, he tried to refuse at the first at Kempton last week and his owners, the Men In Our Position syndicate which includes bookmaker Victor Chandler, feel he will benefit from a change of scenery.

In a statement, Chandler said: “Having tried to refuse at the first at Kempton last weekend it has been agreed, by mutual consent, that Zaynar will leave the yard of Nick Williams and has been sent to the stable of David Pipe with immediate effect.

“All involved in the partnership would like to thank Nick and his team for their efforts and we wish them every success at Cheltenham and for the future.

“Zaynar’s Grade Two victory at Ascot back in December was a memorable day for all and we are hopeful that David will be able to sweeten the grey up after the disappointment of Kempton.”
