Green light for Uttoxeter meet

Officials at Uttoxeter have given this afternoon's meeting the green light before the planned 8am inspection.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore had called the check due to the forecast of freezing temperatures overnight, but he is delighted to report conditions remain raceable.

Moore said: "It was a little tedious we had to have an inspection, but it was essential.

"It's good news as temperatures only got down to minus 1.5C overnight and are due to warm up during the day, with some sunny intervals forecast.

"The ground is going to be very testing but it's raceable, which is the main thing."
