Pearl given classic aim
Lightening Pearl is to be aimed at for the Qipco 1000 Guineas following her victory in the Cheveley Park Stakes.
The Marju filly justified connections’ decision to supplement her for the Newmarket showpiece by giving trainer Ger Lyons his first Group One success.
Not surprisingly she will not run again this season and goes to her winter quarters a best-priced 20-1 for Classic honours.
“Horses fed and Lightening Pearl home, what a star, straight into her grub. What a great feeling to have won the Cheveley Park Group One. Humbled by amount of support,” tweeted Lyons.
“That’s her season finished folks. She will now be trained for the Guineas next spring.”
