Hanagan to miss Ayr outing
Paul Hanagan is hoping to be back in action on Sunday as he continues to recover from a neck injury.
The champion jockey sat out Friday’s action at Royal Ascot after suffering a spasm in his neck and he had been aiming to return at Ayr today.
However, Hanagan’s agent Richard Hale has confirmed he will not ride at the Scottish venue as he undergoes further treatment.
He said: “He’s not riding today. His neck has responded nicely to treatment and they’ve got the spasm out but it’s obviously left him very sore.
“He’s been advised to sit out today as he’s got a busy week coming up and he’s going for some further physio in Redcar later on.
“Hopefully he will be back tomorrow.”
