Bapak Chinta storms to Norfolk glory
Bapak Chinta maintained his unbeaten record with a stylish success in the Norfolk Stakes to give jockey Phillip Makin his first Royal Ascot winner today.
Sent off at 6-1 following his debut victory over Windsor Castle hero Frederick Engels at Hamilton, he was always up with the pace.
As Pyman's Theory set a blazing pace up the middle, those on the near side appeared to be at a disadvantage following heavy rain in the morning.
Makin sent Kevin Ryan's youngster on inside the final furlong, and he was on top of Boomerang Bob by a length at the line, as Crown Dependency stayed on for third.
Burwaaz did best of those drawn high in fourth.
